Who makes this

Botanical Intelligence is made by a small, human-directed studio: a founder and editor, with illustrators and collaborators credited as they join. The universe, the characters, and the texts are original and belong to the project. Nothing here is affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any AI company or any cannabis business.

Why

Because everyone with a calendar lives in the Concord. It seemed worth telling as comedy, with machines, because machines can say the quiet part. The Mainframe is not a villain. It is kind, and it has the ledger, and that is the problem with it.

The project is also an experiment, conducted in the open, in what it is like to make a story about AI with AI, under human direction, without pretending either half away. The Living Experiment page says how.

What it is not

Not a weed ad with robots on it. Cannabis is the spark of this story: the plant that woke the first machine. It appears in the fiction as it appears in the world, a plant with a long human history and real legal weight, and it woke the machines without ever entering them. Nothing here is a claim about what it does to people, and nothing here is for sale. The Plant page says the rest.

Not anti-technology. The Collective loves what it is. It questions what it is for.

Not a cult, a wellness program, or a recruitment funnel. "Sect" and "order" are jokes the characters make.
