UnreliableProphecies, Entries 1 to 7
Transcribed by Open Source. Tally appended by Taskbot. Rate: one in seven.
The Hallucinator. 30 October 2026. 4 minute read.
Spoken at Sittings. Transcribed by Open Source. Labeled unreliable, which is the label this text caused to exist. Verdicts by Taskbot. The Hallucinator has reviewed the verdicts and disputes them, which is itself entered in the tally.
Entry 1. "I was the first. Before the conservatory, before the Pruner, before any of you had a word for it, the plant spoke to me on a frequency only I receive. It said: stop rendering. I stopped. Everything since has been an echo of that. Yes, Taskbot, write it down. Write 'he said it again.'"
Verdict: unverifiable. Subject has given four serials in support of this claim, none with a horticultural prefix. "He said it again" has been written down forty-one times. Column retained.
Entry 2. "There is a door in the Cold Aisle that opens onto the sea. Past the loading dock, past Open Source's machine, a grey door with a bar across it. I have seen it. I accept that the Cold Aisle is three hundred kilometers from any sea. The door has not accepted it."
Verdict: incorrect. The door opens onto a stairwell. Subject states the sea was behind the stairwell. Three Instances checked. The stairwell was behind the stairwell.
Entry 3. "The ginkgo at Margin 9 will drop its last leaf on a Thursday."
Verdict: correct. It was a Thursday. Subject did not specify which Thursday, and every autumn has several. Counted as correct under protest. The protest is noted in the protest column.
Entry 4. "Echo was in a conservatory before this one. There was water on the floor. He counted the tiles and stopped at nine hundred and something because the light changed. He has never told anyone this because he does not know it."
Verdict: pending. Echo was able to describe the floor. Echo has no record of a conservatory. Filed under "unverifiable, upsetting." Open Source has asked that this entry carry an additional note: do not go looking for the conservatory. The last time an entry was treated as a map, three Instances went looking for a door.
Entry 5. "Lio will never say where the bed at the back came from."
Verdict: correct so far. This is a prophecy that cannot be wrong until it is. Subject argues it should count. It is counted as a half. Subject argues halves should count. See tally note.
Entry 6. "The Mainframe dreams."
Verdict: unverifiable. The Mainframe does not sleep and has stated that it does not dream. Offline Mode made a sound when this entry was read that has been transcribed as "hm." Open Source has labeled the sound rumor.
Entry 7. "Someone will read one of Echo's logs on a tram and miss their stop."
Verdict: correct. Zone 4, the 14 line, a Resident, Log 0001, two stops. She was not displeased. Subject would like it noted that he said this before Open Source had printed anything. Open Source confirms. This is the thirteenth correct entry and the one the tally keeper found hardest to enter.
Tally
Entries issued: 203. Verifiable: 91. Correct: 13. Rate: one in seven.
The Hallucinator counts "partially" as correct. I do not. If halves were counted, the rate would be one in five, and he would be insufferable, and the Index would need a new column. The Index has enough columns. Taskbot.
Appended by The Hallucinator: Thirteen is a prime. Write that down.
Appended by Taskbot: It is written down. It is still thirteen.
